Ready or not...

... here I come. This is just a test entry to make things are working right and introduce myself. I am late to the party, my daughters have been blogging on MySpace for quite awhile now. I have been planning to do this for some time, but the idea of blogging doesn't really suit my personality. I like being more of the 'behind the scenes' guy than the flashy guy out front. However, I realize if am going to stay in the game, I need to start contributing; hopefully to the signal and not the noise, although it will probably be noise at least for awhile while I am still on training wheels. I will be blogging mostly about my development life, which revolves around building web applications, especially ColdFusion, the Plum framework, Flex, and some other technologies. I am using this blog more as a personal reference of where I am and where I am going. I don't expect a lot of folks to know this is here, and that is fine with me. Keep the expectations low. I may occasionally say something that sticks, and that would be cool, but I am not expecting too much. There are already massive numbers of geeks out there that have most of this ground covered anyway. I like to lurk in technology environments other than my own, so you may see occasional postings related to .NET, RoR, etc. I will also post the occasional reference to news, pop culture or music, but I have definite plans to avoid politics and religion. I am hosting this blog, so I am not planning at this time to put ads all over the place to pay for it. A special shout out to Jedi Master Ray Camden et.al., who built this wonderful ColdFusion blog software so I don't have to use WordPress :) You guys do good work, and I am paying attention. So, anyway, thanks for watching (or not). See you around the ether...
