Threaten a Spammer and Get Bitch-Slapped

I knew that the spammers were winning, but I didn't have any idea to what extent until I read this article in Wired magazine.  Hard to believe, but It seems if you know the right people, for $500 you can take out just about any business on the Internet with a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. 'Bot herders' claim they can take down Google.

Makes you realize how fragile the Internet is. If a spammer has that kind of power, you can extrapolate and figure that warring nation-states or well funded terroists groups might be able to severly cripple an economy.

Ever give any thought to what you would do if the web economy collapsed?
